Game of Thrones scene ‘CONFIRMS’ Arya Stark will kill Cersei Lannister

Battle of Winterfell victor Arya Stark looks set to complete a forgotten prophecy.

After the epic Game of Thrones episode left viewers in a state of shock last night, all that remains to find out is whether Cersei Lannister will manage to remain on the Iron Throne.

With practically every other character on the show now against her, there looks set to be another battle before the show comes to an end.

But while fans are still in the dark about what’s going to happen, a scene from back when Arya first met Melisandre now appears to reveal the ending to the series.

The Long Night brought the story to unexpected places with Arya being the one who ultimately defeated the Night King in the end by stabbing him in the stomach.

The unexpected twist came courtesy of Melisandre, who finally decided to accept her own death after she completed her mystical mission.

It turns out that back when they first met in season two, Melisandra a revealed a cryptic prophecy to Arya that is all now just starting to make sense.

“I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes sealed shut forever. We will meet again,” the witch told the confused youngster at the time.

It turns out the brown eyes belonged to Walder Frey, who Arya killed back in season six in order to avenge her family after they were slaughtered during the epic Red Wedding episode.

Then the blue eyes obviously belonged to the Night King, but what about the green eyes?

Viewers have realised that Cersei, who is now the only thing stopping the Starks from reclaiming the Seven Kingdoms, actually has green eyes, leading many to believe that she’s about to face a bloody demise at the hands of the young Stark.

One fan tweeted: “I just remembered Melisandre telling Arya Stark back in season three that she was going to kill the Night King! She also says ‘green eyes’ and guess who else has green eyes – Cersei!”

The theory goes against the currently widely believed narrative than Jamie Lannister will end up murdering his sister.

Game of Thrones continues Sunday on Sky Atlantic.
