Game Of Thrones prequel announced by HBO after binning Naomi Watts' Bloodmoon series


Game Of Thrones network HBO have released details of a prequel to the beloved series.

The show will follow the Targaryen kings 300 years before the first GOT episode.

HBO tweeted a picture showing the Targaryen House symbol, which is a three-headed red dragon.

“Fire will reign.”

They captioned the photo: “House Of The Dragon, a Game of Thrones prequel is coming to HBO.

“The series is co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal.

“Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series.”

They tweeted the image to their 2.5m followers on Twitter.

It was liked by 156,900 fans and retweeted 68,800 times.

Game Of Thrones fans flocked to the post to share their thoughts.

One said: “I’m very happy about this.”

The new show announcement was made soon after reports of HBO binning show Game of Thrones prequel Bloodmoon, which filmed a pilot this summer.

A source told Hollywood Reporter that the network was not happy and asked for multiple edits of the footage before it was scrapped.

The show was headed by Jane Goldman, the wife of TV presenter Jonathan Ross and set to feature Naomi Watts.
