Game of Thrones’ Jaqen H’ghar actor cast in Stranger Things season 4 as sinister Russian agent

STRANGER Things has welcomed a divisive member of the Game of Thrones cast into the fold.

Tom Wlaschiha, who played master assassin Jaqen H’ghar on the HBO fantasy drama, was spotted in the recent Stranger Things season 4 preview clip, which confirmed Jim Hopper (David Harbour) was alive after all.

Wlaschiha appears as one of the Russian agents running the labour camp in which Hopper is incarcerated.

His character remains unnamed and since the trailer doesn’t involve any dialogue, we don’t yet have any insight into his motives.

However, it remains clear that Russia will remain an integral part of season 4, as it seems unlikely that Hopper will be making an escape anytime soon.

With a shaved head and beard, Hopper is forced to build a railway through the snow while Wlaschiha’s character coldly watches on.

It was announced earlier this year that Netflix were casting four new main characters in the upcoming teens, made up of three teenagers and an adult.

The description obtained by TV line promises “recurring roles,” so it’s safe to say Wlaschiha is likely to play a significant part in the events to come.

It’s assumed that there will be a time jump between seasons 3 and 4 – a trope that has unfolded between every season so far.

Game of Thrones fans will remember how Jaqen H’ghar was instrumental in transforming Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) into a formidable combatant.

As a member of the Faceless Men, Jaqen taught Arya how to take different forms for the purposes of stealth and subterfuge.

He also refined her fencing skills, which later helped her assassinate the Night King at the Battle of Winterfell.

Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix now.
