Game of Thrones: Bran star revealed he would be ‘gutted’ if he wasn’t King in Jon snub


Game of Thrones fans were left in shock after Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead Wright) took to the Iron Throne in the season finale of the HBO hit. Despite the new ruler taking little part in the Battle of Winterfell, he was the Stark who took to the throne. However, the star has since spoken out about how he would feel should there have been a different ending.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of the Q Awards ceremony, the young actor spoke out about how he would feel if writer George R.R Martin made another character the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

The star confessed: “I will be a bit gutted I think.

“What’s nice is the fact the books and the show were able to evolve as their own thing.

“So George has no obligations to end it in any of the same ways we did.”

However, despite the fate of his character in the books not yet sealed, he seemed excited at the possibility of an alternate ending.

He added: “That’s quite cool, you’re going to get two alternative endings to Game of Thrones.”

The star went on to reveal who he would like to see on the Iron Throne.

True to his bloodline, Isaac spilled: “It would have to be another Stark I think, Sansa or someone.”

Speaking at at ACE Comic Con, via Comicbook.com, the star spoke put about the iconic scene in season seven when Jon and Deanerys (Emilia Clarke) met for the first time.

Kit explained: “We had obviously known each other for a long time but lived in completely separate worlds in this universe that we were in.

“What was really exciting was that first scene when Jon walks into the Dragonstone throne room and sees her for the first time.

“This isn’t a world where you have Facebook and Twitter and Instagram, like, he’s never seen this woman before, Daenerys, but he’s heard about her, the Dragon Queen.”

Fans will know the pair eventually became lovers, before Daenerys turned dark.

A tragic turn of events saw Jon have to murder his love for the good of the people.

Nonetheless, the star revealed he was still overjoyed by the scene as he finally got to meet Emilia’s character face-to-face.

The actor concluded: “For us, for me and Emilia, it was really exciting because we had been friends for six years and seen each other’s work, but never got to meet.”
