Gabrielle Union appears to have responded to America’s Got Talent releasing a statement about her exit from the show.

The actress, 47, was let go from the talent show, with reports revealing her contract was not renewed after she made complaints about the ‘toxic culture’ backstage, as well as allegedly racist jokes.

Gabrielle had complained about comedian Jay Leno joking about Asian people consuming dogs and was reportedly told her hair was ‘too black’ for AGT.

In a new statement, AGT reps said they are now ‘working with’ Gabrielle to hear more about ‘her concerns’ and figure out the appropriate next steps.

‘We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture,’ it read.

‘We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate.’

While Gabrielle hasn’t publicly commented on leaving AGT, she did appear to respond to the show’s latest statement in a cryptic tweet that shared a post on how to apologise properly.

It read: ‘A solid apology comes in three parts. 1. Sincerely admit wrong doing directly to the offended party. 2. Be twice as loud correcting your mistake as you were making the mistake.

‘3. Lay out steps to correct your behaviour in the future. Anything less is covering your own ass.’

Gabrielle re-tweeted the post and added: ‘This! This! AND THIIISSSSSSS!!!!!!’

Fans were quick to throw their support behind Gabrielle, with many presuming her tweet was in reference to her AGT exit.

One commented: ‘Thank God you are leaving the show!’ Another said: ‘They’d better come correct to you, queen. I still have no love for @AGT.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Gabrielle’s rep.

She had starred on America’s Got Talent’s latest series as a judge alongside Julianne Hough, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell.

Following news Gabrielle and Julianne would not be returning as judges, despite being well-received by viewers, AGT originally released a statement explaining that it’s not unusual for the panel to be refreshed each season.

‘America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show.

‘The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT’s enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously,’ it said.
