Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus says he has wished Liverpool duo Roberto Firmino and Fabinho ‘all the best’ in the title race and claimed he will be watching Sunday’s match against Manchester United .
The Reds head to Old Trafford looking to extend their perfect start to the Premier League season, which has seen Jurgen Klopp’s side take a maximum 24 points from their opening eight fixtures.
Victory against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would see the leaders restore their eight-point lead over City at the top of the table after Pep Guardiola’s temporarily closed the gap with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And Jesus, who was on target at Selhurst Park and recently joined up with Liverpool stars Firmino and Fabinho in the Brazil squad, admitted he discussed the title race with the pair while on international duty.
When asked if he will be watching the game at Old Trafford, Jesus told Sky Sports (via Manchester Evening News ): “I think so!

“I spoke to Firmino and Fabinho last week. I said to them both ‘all the best for the season.'”
When asked if that he didn’t mean that for the United game, Jesus joked: “Yes, please!”
Discussing this season’s race to claim the Premier League trophy, he added: “This season I think it will be the same [every game] because Liverpool are five points in front of us [before Sunday’s game at Old Trafford].
“We have to try to win every game.”
Defending champions City bounced back from a 2-0 home loss to Wolves to ensure they stayed within touching distance of Liverpool against Palace.

Jesus, starting just third league game of the new campaign, opened the scoring with his 50th goal for the club in the 39th minute before David Silva added a second just minutes later.
“I’m very happy,” added the Brazilian, who started just eight Premier League matches for Guardiola’s side last season.
“Last season I had a difficult start to the season, so this is going to be different, I work hard and focus on the goal all the time so that’s why I score a lot.
“All my life I’m working hard on my pitch, when I go onto the pitch I forget everything outside. That helps me a lot.”
