THERE were only six Friends – but along the way they met plenty of pals who provided lots of laughs.
This week we are celebrating the US sitcom after the main cast announced they are reuniting for a one-off special.
And today we are featuring the series regulars who had fun with Ross, Joey, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Rachel, and some famous faces.
Kate Jackson reveals what happened to some of the most-loved characters on the show.
Maggie Wheeler (Janice)
CHANDLER’S annoyingly nasal on/off girlfriend was famous for her catchphrase “Oh! My. God!”
Actress Maggie told producers she was expecting during the first series – so Janice returned in series two eight months pregnant and married.
Maggie helped promote an exhibition last year celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first episode.
Helen Baxendale (Emily)
BEFORE Cold Feet, Helen played Ross’s second wife Emily Waltham.
Helen was written out after 14 episodes when she became pregnant with her first child.
Her last TV role was in Midsomer Murders in 2016.
Larry Hankin (Mr Heckles)
THE 79-year-old was in prison break classic Escape From Alcatraz and Breaking Bad movie El Camino.
Friends fans will remember him as Mr Heckles, who banged on his ceiling when his neighbours were noisy.
Paul Rudd (Mike)
IN the final series, Phoebe married Mike Hannigan, played by Paul.
He went on to star as Ant-Man as well as appearing in comedy hits Knocked Up and Anchorman.
But fans still stop him to ask: “How’s Phoebe?”
Hank Azaria (David)
HE went on to win Emmy awards for voicing Simpsons characters – but Hank says it “did sting a bit” when his character David did not get together with Phoebe.
The scientist was sent away to Minsk on a research project.
Giovanni Ribisi (Frank Jnr)
PHOEBE was a surrogate to half-brother Frank Buffay Jr’s triplets.
Actor Giovanni went on to appear in Lost In Translation and sci-fi epic Avatar.
He will also be in the Avatar sequel which is out next year.
Tom Selleck (Richard)
THE Magnum, P.I. actor played Monica’s first big love Dr Richard Burke.
He was advised not to appear as he was a big star but said: “It was a joy.”
He has since starred in Blue Bloods and the Jesse Stone cop movies on US TV.
James Michael Tyler (Gunther)
AS coffee shop manager Gunther, James appeared in 151 episodes and is thought to make £300,000 a year from reruns – and he reckons there is “no need” for a reboot.
He was in Matt Le Blanc’s sitcom Episodes in 2012.
Jane Sibbett and Jessica Hecht (Carol and Susan)
ROSS’S first spouse Carol (Jane) brought up his son Ben with her wife Susan (Jessica).
Two US channels refused to air the women’s 1996 marriage.
Jane is now a theatre director and Jessica has acted on Broadway.
And the A-listers who popped in for a coffee…
Elle Macpherson (Janine)
LUCKY Joey! The supermodel was his roommate Janine Lacroix for five episodes.
Danny DeVito (Officer Goodbody)
DANNY played stripper Officer Goodbody, who cries after his act makes Phoebe wince.
Julia Roberts (Susie)
CHANDLER’S childhood pal “Susie Underpants” – Julia – bumped into him on a movie set.
Brad Pitt (Will)
WILL – AKA Brad – hated Rachel at school. He and Jennifer Aniston were married at the time.
George Clooney (Dr Doug Ross)
AS his ER character Dr Doug Ross, George treated Rachel for an injury.
