While a list of the most popular baby names in the UK is released each year – with Oliver and Olivia in the top spots – here’s a selection of the rarest names for boys and girls. 

Your child is almost guaranteed to be the only one in their class with these names, revealed using data from 2018, the last year stats are available. 

In that year there were 3,000 names which were so rare, they were only given to three babies each, Cosmopolitan reported.

For boys, rare names included Lancelot, Walt, Falcon, Otter, Nero and Jade, and one of Kim Kardashian’s choices, Psalm.
