Matthew Perry has been spotted out and about in New York with a brand new ‘do, after worrying fans about his health last month.

The Friends star was spotted with a new shorter, darker hairdo as he stepped out this week, wearing sweatpants as he picked up a coffee in the Big Apple.

Matthew, 49, had worried fans last month after he was seen looking dishevelled in Manhattan, with ‘long, dirty fingernails’, but he reassured fans that he had booked himself in for a manicure since seeing the photos.

He tweeted: ‘I’m getting a manicure this morning. That’s okay right? I mean it says man right in the word.’

In September, the actor revealed he had spent three months in hospital, telling fans: ‘Three months in a hospital bed. Check’ after he was admitted for emergency surgery following a perforated bowel.

Matthew has been open about his previous struggles with substance addiction and depression, and often updates his followers about his therapy sessions (including getting kicked out of one back in February).

Matthew made his name as Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom Friends, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

The show ran from 1994 until 2004, making its cast household names, and despite fans calling for a reunion show since it finished 15 years ago, there have been continued denials that the cast will ever reunite.

It was also recently revealed that Monica and Rachel’s apartment, where a lot of the scenes are set, would actually cost you £1.7 million to buy today… so there goes all the dreams of living in their New York pad out the window.
