Free £25 on Saturday's horse racing – expert tipster shares three horses to follow

Vieux Lion Rouge runs in the Becher Chase ( 13:30, Aintree ) and he looks to have everything going for him.

He’s won this race before off just a 3lb lower mark, as well as finishing second in this race off a 1lb higher mark last season, and started this season with victory at Chepstow before finishing down the field in a Class 2 hurdle race at Cheltenham.

And don’t forget, Betfair Sportsbook are offering a free bet of up to £25 for every winner at 3/1 or over during ITV racing on Saturday (free bet matching original stake, max £25).

Let’s be clear, he needs a fence to be seen at his best and these National obstacles give him that challenge. David Pipe’s chaser has an exceptional record on soft or softer ground, his record reading eight wins and three places from 21 starts and he’s good at this time of year too, with two wins and a place from five runs.

Most importantly his stable is probably in the best run of form for a couple of seasons and Pipe looks like he’s undergoing a resurgence. Our selection is available at a nice double figure price (10/1) on the Betfair Sportsbook paying five places. I’d be disappointed were he out of the frame

Old boy can triumph at Aintree

Ultragold may be 11–years-old now but I think he can run a big race in the Grand Sefton ( 15:15, Aintree ). He’s won the Topham Chase twice at the National meeting over this course and distance, latterly off just a 1lb lower mark and subsequently faced some tough assignments.

It’s taken him a while to drop back down to a workable mark but this race looks a drop below his usual level and importantly he’s back over the fences which have seen him return two wins and two places from five runs.

That is some record and in the context of this race it looks a huge advantage, especially when we throw in the fact he goes in any ground, has won at this time of the year before and that his stable is going really well.

Outsider may surprise at Sandown

Away from Aintree the biggest race of the day is the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase ( 15:00 Sandown ) and all I can say is that the winner will need to jump like a stag as well as see out the two mile trip really well.

It’s a tight looking affair but if you’re looking for a bet at a huge price then take a look at the outsider of the field, Henry de Bromhead’s Oruna at 33/1 on the Sportsbook, he could give you a cracking run for your each-way money if the dead eight go to post.

He gave a lump of weight to a decent horse last time and mistakes put paid to his chances. If the field ignore him and he puts in a clear round then he could be clear approaching the pond fence and from there it’ll be a case of hanging on.
