Clark went on to reveal how he relayed the stunning declaration to Mercury.
“I told Freddie and he was over the moon. I arranged for a dinner party at my place, Olivier came along and they got on like a house on fire.”
Meanwhile, the musician and producer, who has remastered The Dave Clark Five’s greatest hits for All The Hits, set for release next Friday, also shared his memories of the Mercury he knew away from the stage persona.
