Frank Lampard demands Chelsea 'take their anger out' on Arsenal after latest defeat

Arsenal are set to feel the backlash of Chelsea’s defeat to Newcastle after Frank Lampard demanded his side take their anger out on the Gunners.

Chelsea were beaten by a 94th-minute winner from Isaac Hayden after a game in which hosts Newcastle had just 30% of the possession and registered 12 shots less than their opponents.

And striker Tammy Abraham said after the defeat, Chelsea boss Lampard had immediately turned the focus onto London rivals Arsenal ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

“The gaffer said after the game ‘We gave it our all – keep your heads up, we’ve got another massive game on Tuesday’ and we just have to take our anger out against Arsenal,” said Abraham.

In quotes reported by Metro , the England forward added: “It’s a tough one to take. These are the kind of games you watch on TV and you never expect it to happen to you.

“We dominated the game, in the second half I don’t remember them having a shot until the last minute and they score.

“For us, we have to give credit to Newcastle, they defended well all game, they disrupted our style of play, but we gave it our all and were unfortunate to lose at the end.”

Abraham was replaced by Michy Batshuayi with 10 minutes of the 90 remaining, but Lampard backed his main striker after the game.

“We can’t absolutely rely on Tammy Abraham,” said Lampard. “We have to have goals from across the frontline if we want to bridge the gap upwards.
