Harvey Weinstein was seen hobbling into court on a walking frame today as he faced a bail hearing over claims he mishandled his electronic tag system.
The former movie mogul, 67, is awaiting trial on sex assault charges and was hauled back to court to face allegations he broke the conditions of his release.
He appeared at the State Supreme Court in Manhattan, New York and looked frail and grey as he pushed his walker into the building.
Weinstein is said to be expecting to have back surgery in the coming days.
His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, told the court his operation had been set for Thursday and is related to a condition caused by a car accident in August.
Aidala said the defence team “received assurances from several doctors that the [surgical] procedure will not impede Mr. Weinstein’s ability to participate in the trial.”

The former Hollywood producer had originally been freed on $1 million bail but during the hearing it was reportedly hiked to more than double.
It came amid claims Weinstein had “mishandled” his court-issued ankle monitor during his release, with prosecutors claiming there were 57 tag violations in under two months.
Aidala said the violations were technical glitches due to poor reception at Weinstein’s mansion.

A trial is scheduled for January 6, 2020, and Weinstein could face life in prison if convicted on the top counts.
Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges that he sexually assaulted two women, one in 2006 and another in 2013.
He has also denied allegations by roughly 70 women of sexual misconduct dating back decades, saying any contact was consensual.
