Four ducklings which had got themselves stuck in a drain were rescued this morning and reunited with their mum.

The unfortunate birds were seen wandering on a road, and from there they fell into the drain.

Thankfully, police managed to rescue them – and shared cute video of the unusual mission.

Gloucester Police tweeted: ‘A family reunion of a different kind this morning as our officers and colleagues from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service rescued four ducklings after reports they were on the road and had then fallen down storm drains at Cole Avenue, Gloucester.

‘Happy ending within 30 mins.’

Responding on Twitter, people praised the officers for sorting out the situation.

One said: ‘Wonderful and without doubt mum would’ve known she’d lost some so she would’ve been so stressed.

‘This has made my day.’

Another added: ‘Thankful for a quack response from the police. Another case quacked!’
