Fortnite’s new Atlantis area creates major motorboat glitch

Fortnite recently added an Atlantis-like area named Coral Castle, but it appears to have stopped boats from working.

With Aquaman being this season of Fortnite’s pop culture guest star, it was widely believed that his home city of Atlantis would be added to the game.

Recently, that’s what happened, though it’s not exactly Atlantis itself but an Atlantis-like point of interest named Coral Castle.

While major map changes are usually a good thing, the castle has unfortunately introduced a pretty nasty glitch that has forced Epic Games to remove motorboats from the game.

If you attempted to drive into the waterfall near Coral Castle in a boat, you’d glitch through the wall and be trapped outside the map, forced to wait until you drown.

The obvious solution is to just avoid the waterfall, but it was also discovered that you could harvest an infinite amount of items by quickly switching between the item you wished to duplicate and your pickaxe whilst jumping into a boat.

Without boats, manoeuvring throughout the map will be much trickier, even if the water levels aren’t as high anymore, and Epic is currently unable to provide a time frame of when boats will be added back in.

Hopefully, though, they’ll soon add the long-awaited cars to the game to make up for it, which are now viable with the map’s current state and have been teased since the season began in June.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
