Epic Games failed to provide detailed official patch notes for their first major Fortnite update, but have shared news regarding their second.
Today saw Epic Games release the second major patch for Fortnite Chapter 2 during a time in which in some game services have a degraded service status.
Patch v11.00.1 is available to download now on PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and Android and addresses some known issues.
This means it has not added new content to the game and has been launched on only a limited number of platforms for now.
While it’s unusual for specific platforms to be updated before others, we do know that this new patch will be arriving today on the others.
This includes Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS and Epic Games has said they will announce when the patch is available.
Here’s the official statement from Epic Games, which reads: “We’ve released patch v11.00.1 on PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and Android to address some issues. A download is required.
“v11.00.1 will also be released on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. We will update you as it comes to these platforms.”
A small rundown has also been provided on the changes today, which exclusively focuses on bugfixes.
This includes reports of settings being reset following the launch of the significant Chapter 2 update.
Problems with settings – including keybinding – returning to default should now have been addressed, although many fans will have already re-configured their settings manually.
Many of these were reported following the launch of Fortnite Chapter 2 and included the following:
- Some settings being reset due to an error with the Chapter 2 launch. If you haven’t logged in since the launch of Chapter 2, your settings will remain as they were.
- The wrong Achievements showing as completed.
- The screen appearing cropped/zoomed-in on consoles.
However, while this is good news for fans, problems still remain, and Epic Games are now asking for some assistance.
This includes trying to sort out a problem with the FPS, which appears to be ongoing.
“We’re continuing to investigate reports of FPS issues following the Chapter 2 release,” a message from Epic Games adds.
“While digging into what’s causing this, we could use your help. Please share links with us with videos showing the issues you’re seeing. Thank you!”
So fans could be seeing more small updates popping up for Fortnite Battle Royale in the coming days.
