Fortnite TikTok competition lets you add your own dance move emote

What move can you teach Fortnite? (pic: Epic Games)

Never mind dancing to someone else’s tune, there’s a currently a competition running on TikTok to add your own custom Fortnite emote.

Some people seem to spend more time dancing than playing in Fortnite and if you’re one of them then there’s now the opportunity to get your own custom emote into the game.

The Emote Royal Contest on TikTok challenges you to film yourself performing an original dance move and giving it the hashtag #EmoteRoyaleContest.

If it gets noticed, and people like it, then it will be added to the game as a real emote, although you can read the exact rules here.

You’ll also get 25,000 V-Bucks (around £190) and a Fortnite VIP giveaway package that includes a crossbody bag, a battle bus drone, two hoodies, a Funk Pop! toy, and a Fortnite version of Jenga.

The only restrictions, apart from it being an original dance (Epic Games doesn’t want to get sued again) is that you perform to a pre-chosen music track, which you can download here.

In other words, you can’t just pick any song you like and dance to it, because, again, Epic don’t like getting sued.

Notable players Pokimane and Jordan Fisher have already created their own dances but you still have a chance until the competition ends on Friday, 24 January.
