Fortnite season 9 teaser 1 has been released today by Epic Games.
The official Fortnite Twitter account revealed the first Fortnite season 9 teaser, which shows a mysterious looking skin.
It looks like the new Fortnite season 9 skin is in some kind of space suit, or maybe wearing some kind of equipment needed for time travel.
Fortnite season 9 teaser 1 was posted on Twitter alongside the cryptic message: “The future is unknown”.
The Fortnite season 9 teaser also confirms that the release date for the next Battle Pass will be Thursday May 9.
Previous Fortnite teasers have given Battle Royale fans clues about what’s in store with the next Battle Pass season.
And Fortnite players have been putting on their sleuthing hats to try to figure out what this first teaser could all mean.
One of those was Fortnite leaker HYPEX, who in a post online provided a better glimpse of what the teased skin could look like in full.
Alongside the image HYPEX posted: “Season 9 First teased skin with a mirror effect, it won’t look the same but at least gives us an idea on how it might look”.
HYPEX also quoted a tweet they originally posted a few days ago which looks like they were spot on with their season 9 prediction.
On May 4 HYPEX tweeted: “My prediction is.. Season 9 will be Space/Future Related!”
We’ve already seen the mysterious Gateway realm make an appearance during the recent season 8 live event.
Could this somehow play a part in any kind of time travel that will occur during Fortnite season 9?
And maybe, just maybe, the hint about time travel could be tied into the map rumours that have been surrounding the Fortnite season 9 launch.
It’s rumoured that Fortnite season 9 could see the Volcano erupt again and cause the Battle Royale map to be destroyed.
This could then shepherd in one of the new maps Epic Games has long said is in the works.
Maybe after the Fortnite map is destroyed players will be transported into the future to see a completely different playing area.
Or maybe Fortnite players will be sent into space after the current Fortnite map has been levelled?
Another prominent leaker – Lucas7Yoshi_ – also pointed out something interesting about the teaser.
While a lot of players may have been drawn to the new skin, the Fortnite leaker pointed out there is a big N displayed on the Fortnite teaser.
On Twitter @Lucas7Yoshi_ posted: “There is an N in the image
“Its probably just “Now” but i find it an interesting choice”.
Judging by past teaser release schedules, the next Fortnite season 9 teaser should arrive on Tuesday before a final one on Wednesday.
And if Epic sticks to releasing teasers at the same time, as they’ve done before, then Fortnite teaser 2 should drop at 3pm UK time on Tuesday May 7.
