Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2: Map – Leaks, Updates, Chaos Physics Engine, Locations, Leaks and more


It’s been a long time coming since Chapter 2 Season 1, but despite some delays with Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 we’re only a few days away from getting our hands on one of the most exciting seasons to date – and some amazing new themes.

Gold will be making an appearance, according to Forbes, and will be playing a significant role – as both a colour and building material.

One of the first clues shown on January 15th was the data-mined legendary skin for “Oro” (meaning gold in Spanish) which came alongside an inscription – “Golden Treasure, an Eternal Obsession.”

However, Reknowned Fortnite leaker Lucas has also discovered a series of props which are solid gold versions of existing objects in the game. It certainly looks like we’re in for one of the most visually exciting seasons to date.

With any new season usually come a few map changes, depending on how crazy Epic Games are feeling.

New POIs?

Fortnite is back
BACK AT IT – The new Season will bring some BIG changes

Pretty much every season of Fortnite has introduced some sort of new POI, whether it is the aftermath of a destroyed POI or a brand new one.

Little is known about the season-ending event right now, a lot of fans have speculated that the “Chaos Agent” is developing a plan to unleash some sort of monster upon the map.

Be sure to be on the lookout for potential chaos happening on the map in the coming weeks, this could be the start of a brand new POI!

New Physics Engine

Epic Games recently shared a blog post revealing Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2’s release date (20 February), as well as some massive news regarding Fortnite’s shift to a new physics engine in early February.

In a blog post from the Fortnite Team, they share the news that Fortnite will be moving to a new physics engine in the coming weeks.

CHANGE IS COMING: This is the first time Fortnite has seen a major engine update since it launched

The post said:

“Beginning with the release of the 11.50 update in early February, Fortnite will be moving to Unreal Engine’s Chaos Physics Engine.”

There will undoubtedly be some issues when the change is first implemented, but it will be “closely monitoring feedback and making improvements over time.”

Furthermore, switching to the “Chaos physics engine” allows a build to collapse if it gets shot or exploded, rather than just disappearing.

This is something that Fortnite players have been calling out for, so it’s great to see the development team listening to the demands of the community.

BIG CHANGES – The bottom right of the map is most likely to be affected!

It is hard to say right now where the map changes could come. However, if we were to guess where we could see some possible changes, it would probably be somewhere in the bottom right of the map.

This area is where the landmark location “Cape Cod” is located. A lot of speculation has been around the Visitor who infamously caused “The End” event is located here.

Perhaps we will see some sort of massive building or destruction of surrounding mountains?
