Fortnite Chapter 2: All Key Changes to the NEW season of Fortnite

Fortnite‘s second ever chapter is finally here, after players had to stare at a black hole for two days Epic Games secretly launched the game at 4:00 am EST. After Fortnite fans thought they would have to stare at a black hole for the rest of the week, the new season or chapter as they are also calling it, is full of amazing additions.

Much to the displeasure of many, players were left staring at a black hole that refused to budge. During the live Fortnite event we saw the seven visitors launch through multiple rifts and they ultimately crashed into the “Zero Point” which was nestled in Loot Lake.

After this, players were sucked out of the map and now everyone is stuck in a black hole loading screen which is assumed to be the downtime for Chapter 2.

This sent the internet into uproar, unsure of when Fortnite Chapter 2, will begin. So, with the new season in full swing, what are some of the key changes besides the new map?

Decreased Loot Pool

One of the biggest complaints of recent Fortnite seasons was the abundance of weapons in the current loot pool, there was SO many weapons and often times there was 4 variants of a weapon.

There was a lot of gimmicky weapons such as the heavy sniper, mini gun and stink grenades that players wanted removed for multiple seasons.

Now, Fortnite has completely axed the loot pool in order to restore some balance within the game. They vaulted over half of the items in the game including the following:

  • Minigun
  • Stink Bombs
  • Heavy Sniper
  • Shockwave Grenade
  • Slurp Juice
  • Bouncer
  • Grappler
  • Driftboards
  • B.R.U.T.E
  • Junk Rift
  • Launch Pad
  • Shield Bubble
  • Suppressed SMG
  • Tactical SMG
  • Chug Jug
  • Chug Splashes
  • Heavy Assault Rifle
  • Infantry Rifle
  • Grenade Launcher
  • Flint-Knock Pistol
  • Automatic Sniper Rifle
  • Boogie Bomb
  • Zapper Trap
  • Hand Cannon
  • Suppressed Pistol
  • Revolver
  • Campfire
  • Vending Machines

Along these vaulted weapons they also un-vaulted or tweaked the following:

  • Pump Shotgun (Common, Epic, Legendary variants)
  • Burst Assault Rifle
  • Compact SMG
  • Submachine Gun
  • Rocket Launcher
    • Added Common and Uncommon variants
  • Pump Shotgun
    • Damage has been reduced to 70/80/90/100/110 from 80/95/100/105/110
  • Pistol
    • Added Epic & Legendary variants

Added an upgrade bench which costs materials to upgrade items

  • 50/50/50 for common to uncommon
  • 150/150/150 for uncommon to rare
  • 250/250/250 rare to epic

Fishing

One the more unique concepts added into Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 was the ability to fish in game. Players are able to loot fishing poles all around the map and if they cast it on a bubbling spot in the water they have the chance to catch some weapons, healing items or even fish.

The fish can heal you for 50 health at a time so it is definitely worth the time to fish,
