Former MONSTA X star Wonho ‘preparing first solo album for autumn release’

Wonho is reportedly gearing up to release his first solo album.

According to Star News, Wonho is preparing new music which is rumoured to arrive later this year – so great news for his fandom WENEE.

Soompi reports a source from his label telling News1: ‘Wonho is currently working on his solo debut album. Please look forward to it.’ They added that a release date hasn’t been decided yet.

The former MONSTA X star joined label Highline Entertainment – a subsidiary under his former company Starship Entertainment – in April.

Wonho, real name Lee Hoseok, had been a member of the K-pop group since they debuted in 2015, but quit in October 2019 amid drug-related allegations dating back several years ago.

The singer was later cleared of all charges.

Many MONSTA X fans hoped he would return to the group, however opening his own official Instagram account and revealing the name for his fans pretty much cements him going it alone.

Meanwhile MONSTA X is continuing as a six-member group with Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney and I.M releasing album Fantasia X earlier this year.
