Wonho has announced the title and release date of his first solo album since leaving MONSTA X.

The singer will drop his new song Right For Me ahead of the release of his album Part. 1 Love Synonym on 4 September.

It sees the K-pop star officially going it alone as a solo artist having signed to the label Highline Entertainment in April.

The news was posted on his Twitter account on Sunday with a simple light blue graphic featuring Wonho wearing a white shirt.

Back in July it was reported in South Korean media that he was getting his debut album ready for release in the autumn.

Wonho, real name Lee Hoseok, had been a member of MONSTA X since they got started in 2015 under Starship Entertainment.

He quit in October 2019 amid drug-related allegations dating back several years ago. The singer was later cleared of all charges.

Wanting to continue his career as a soloist the Jealousy singer has launched his own social media accounts and revealed the name for his fanbase, WENEE.

Meanwhile his former boy group is continuing as a six, with Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon and I.M releasing the album Fantasia X earlier this year.

They also dropped the English-language album All About Luv and held an online concert, Live From Seoul With Luv, in August.
