Former MONSTA X member Wonho has signed an exclusive contract as a solo artist.
Hip-hop/R&B label Highline Entertainment revealed this morning that Wonho signed the deal with them.
The label revealed that Wonho will be greeting the public as a solo singer and music producer.
Wonho also stated through Highline: ‘I am deeply reflecting on my immature and improper actions of my past.
‘I am so thankful for my fans who have given me a second chance, and I will do my best to repay your support.’
Wonho – real name Lee Ho Seok – left MONSTA X last year after an individual claimed to have witnessed him and member Jung Da Eun smoking marijuana in 2013.
He co-operated with the investigation by Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s narcotics investigation team according to Soompi, and was cleared of all drug charges.
In an interview with Dispatch, also offering a heartfelt apology to his fans, Wonho had stated: ‘There were many things I promised to them.
‘That I would always be by their side. I’m sorry that I had to leave like this.
‘I’d lived with only them in my mind. In the past, I lived as Lee Ho Seok and in the present, I lived as Wonho.
‘Does Wonho really have no responsibility in what Lee Ho Seok has done? I have to shoulder that responsibility. I hurt people with my past. I wanted to minimize that pain.
He concluded by saying: ‘I still can’t forget our fans. I am full of regret. Just feeling like I should have done better for them? I just wanted to say I’m sorry.’
