He became the head chef at Three Blue Ducks restaurant in Sydney’s Rosebery after winning season four of Masterchef in 2012.

And now, according to the Daily Telegraph, Andy Allen is rumoured to be one of the front runners to helm MasterChef Australia in 2020, alongside celebrity chef Curtis Stone and a mystery female host.

Andy, 31, who previously confessed he was the ‘weakest cook’ among his MasterChef group, has since become one of the show’s most successful graduates.

In addition to taking home the $250,000 prize and becoming head chef at Three Blue Ducks, Andy has penned a book and produced his own YouTube channel.

His personal story of becoming MasterChef’s youngest winner is also testament to the show’s potential, which makes him ideal to be one of its new judges.

He is rumoured to be one of the shortlisted people, alongside celebrity chef Curtis Stone, who recently said he hasn’t completely ruled out the idea of being a judge.

While an insider has confirmed both chefs are being considered for the judging role, a Ten spokesperson told The Daily Telegraph yesterday no one has been locked in.

‘We are still casting and no decision has been made,’ the spokesperson said.

Curtis, who is based in Los Angeles, has said his work commitments would make the role difficult to manage, but the insider added filming could take place in the US.

One of the biggest concerns for the celebrity chef is how being a judge and running his restaurants would leave very little time to be with his family.

He added: ‘I’ve got a pretty full schedule back in the States, but you never know.’

In addition to Andy and Curtis, producers are said to be looking for a female host, with Poh Ling Yeow, Sarah Todd and Julie Goodwin rumoured to be considered.
