Former Man Utd striker predicts exactly when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be sacked

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be sacked at the end of the season, according to former Red Devils striker Alan Brazil.

United are currently ninth in the Premier League table following Sunday’s 3-3 draw at Sheffield United, nine points behind the top four.

Brazil says the United players need a “big name” to take over and reckons former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino would be the right candidate for the role.

“I’d love, for what [Solskjaer’s] done for the club, I’d love him to be a hero and take them on to great things – I don’t see it,” Brazil said on talkSPORT.

“No I don’t, I don’t think he will be there at the end of the season.

“I think Poch, if he’s not too tired and needs a holiday. I think he’d just get more out of them.

“They were shocking first half [against Sheffield United], shocking.

“It’s horrible to say because he’s been great for the club and he’s a lovely guy by all accounts, and I want him to do well, but I just think they need a big name that the players will sit up let them play.”

Manchester United came back from two goals down to lead 3-2 at Bramall Lane but conceded a late equaliser to draw 3-3.

After the match Solskjaer said there were clear improvements in his side from where they were at last season.

“The difference between this year’s team and last year’s team is huge,” the Norwegian told Sky Sports.

“At 2-0 down I’m thinking, my mind is going back to Everton, no doubt about the drive, the energy, the attitude of these boys.

“They never give in. Last year we would have been 3, 4, 5-0 down. It’s a big strive to come back from 2-0 down. And then things like that happen at the end.”
