Former Love Island host Caroline Flack is planning to ‘make a comeback’ after she was charged with assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Laura Whitmore has temporarily replaced the presenter, who stepped down last month following her assault charge, as host of the winter edition of the ITV2 dating show which is set in Cape Town, South Africa.

It has been reported that the ITV host is planning to ‘reinvent herself’ by ditching her party-girl lifestyle, following the assault charges which Flack has denied.

‘Caroline has been avoiding the usual celeb haunts. She’s been going on long hikes, reading, doing yoga and taking care of herself with spa treatments, healthy food and lots of sleep,’ a source began.

‘She is more keen than ever to get out of the city and escape the stress of it all,’ they continued to Closer Magazine.

The source added that once she and Lewis can legally reunite they plan ‘to swap parties and boozing for dog walking and quiet nights in front of the TV’.

It follows after former Love Islander Amy Hart revealed she has been in touch with Caroline through Instagram Direct Message.

‘I’ve sent Caroline messages, we speak so…,’ she commented.

Chatting to Daily Star Online at the European premiere of Cirque du Soleil’ LUZIA she continued: ‘Yeah, on Instagram.’

When quizzed about Laura replacing Caroline, Amy added:  ‘Both of them are amazing so whatever happens the show will always be in good hands.’

After Caroline stepped down from hosting duties she wrote in a statement:  ‘Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly.

‘In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for series 6. I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.’

Caroline Flack’s rep has been contacted for a comment.

Love Island airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV2.
