Former Goldman Sachs VP Moritz Baier-Lentz Joins BITKRAFT Esports Ventures as Partner

Today, esports investment fund BITKRAFT Esports Ventures announced the addition of a new partner, Moritz Baier-Lentz. Located in New York, Baier-Lentz will be responsible for expanding BITKRAFT’s assets and investments, supporting portfolio companies, and interacting with the fund’s investors and strategic partners.

BITKRAFT Esports Ventures was founded in 2017 by Jens Hilgers, a co-founder of esports tournament organizer ESL and esports organization G2 Esports. The fund made $50M USD worth of investments across 25 esports and digital entertainment companies in 2019 as well as establishing the Roundhill BITKRAFT Esports & Digital Entertainment ETF in cooperation with esports and gaming-focused U.S. investment adviser Roundhill Investments.

“Moritz is the first addition to the team since the launch of our Venture Fund I in January 2019 and we could not be more excited,” said Jens Hilgers, founding general partner of BITKRAFT Esports Ventures, in a release. “Moritz shares our culture, our passion, and our ambition—and comes with massive investment experience from one of the world’s finest investment firms. ”

Baier-Lentz, who holds an MBA and M.A. from Stanford University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Berlin School of Economics and Law, was a vice president with the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs, where he built and co-led the firm’s global gaming and esports practice.
