‘For so long I was just so angry’: Singer Thelma Plum returns with ‘therapeutic’ new song – after copping abuse when she claimed Sticky Fingers front man Dylan Frost ‘spat at her’

Thelma Plum faced a barrage of abuse in 2016 when she went public with allegations that Sticky Fingers front man Dylan Frost spat at her during an expletive-filled rant.

And now the Australian songstress is back with a new single that she calls ‘therapeutic’.

The 24-year-old told Stellar on Saturday that the song, Not Angry Anymore, is part of her healing from both a broken heart and the very public drama she endured.

‘Sharing all of this has been therapeutic for me,’ the young singer told the publication.

‘For so long I was just so angry and hurt. And I didn’t know what to do, or where to place that anger and hurt,’ she added.

The crooner says that she has written an entire debut album, titled Better In Blak, and that the process was healing.

In December 2016, in a since deleted post, the Indigenous singer accused Sticky Fingers rocker Dylan Frost of ‘swearing at me and spitting’ at her at a Sydney pub that month.

She claimed the incident left her so frightened she had to flee in an Uber with the doors locked.

The popular band then made the shock announcement that it was going on an indefinite hiatus so that Dylan could deal with addiction and mental health issues.

The Sticky Fingers lead vocalist went on to explain he had been diagnosed with a mental illness in 2015.

Part of Thelma’s new album also deals with a relationship ending, one so traumatic that she asked herself,  ‘Can you die from heartbreak?’

One of her new songs, titled, Do You Ever Get So Sad You Can’t Breathe, was candidly written about that breakup.
