Football Manager 2020 budgets for every Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A team

Football Manager 2020 launches today, and wannabe bosses are already sizing up which clubs they will take over on their initial saves.

Selecting a team is always a difficult choice for gaffers in a new game, with financial constraints often proving a deciding factor in any selection.

Some managers love the challenge of operating on a shoestring budget, working the loan market and relying on youth players as they build a dynasty at a club.

Others prefer a hefty transfer warchest and the potential for immediate success, jumping straight into the hotseat of established European heavyweights.

Knowing the state of a club’s finances before taking a job is therefore vital for bosses, particularly with some traditional big spenders finding themselves short on cash this season.

Summer sprees from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have left the La Liga giants low on funds, although new arrivals Antoine Griezmann and Joao Felix head up their respective star-studded squads.

Arenal are also short of cash following the acquisition of club record signing Nicolas Pepe, while Premier League rivals Chelsea are at the other end of the scale with £150million to burn when their transfer ban lifts.

Paris Saint-Germain unsurprisingly head up the Ligue 1 transfer budget table, Bayern Munich are unmatched in the Bundesliga and Real Madrid still have over £50m to spend on new recruits – but will you take the job at the Bernabeu or seek a greater challenge around Europe?
