FooR hit us with a selection of tracks destined for big things this summer

FooR are ready to rock this summer with various lock down creations forthcoming from the south coast collective.

The first of these, Going Nowhere Soon is a collaboration with singer songwriter Cameron Bloomfield.

The track is about the lack of opportunities facing young people and is also the first release on their new FooRge label.

This follows the Warner Music-signed FooR, Majestic, Dread MC’s Fresh, which earned huge support from Radio 1, Kiss, Capital Dance, and beyond. The track was also chosen for the Coors Light TV ad campaign.

Hard at work pre and during covid, writing new material and planning their new live tour, the band recently helmed a Top 10, iTunes Hip Hop Chart Arts Council-funded album project, highlighting rising talent from their home town of Southampton; a city that looms large in their lives.

A large local following pack out their Solent shows and festival tents at IOW and Common People and the band have organised events and open mic nights for Southampton youth, and are prominent in the city’s bid for City Of Culture 2025.

Forthcoming tour dates include Switch, the Isle Of Wight Festival, BoomTown, Summer Break: Amsterdam, Inside Out Fest Amsterdam, and an Australian tour.

Gavin from FooR called us up from the studio to tell us about the tracks he’s tipping for big things this summer.

FooR x Cameron Bloomfield – Going Nowhere Soon

“We wrote this track with Cameron just before the first lockdown and have been waiting to hear this at a festival for ages now, going to be such a good feeling when it finally happens!”

Soulecta – We No Speak London

“One of our favorite garage producers! He has an album coming out so we’ll be playing loads of his tracks this summer, but this one is such a fun/feel good anthem.”

FooR – Everybody’s Free

“Our take on the rave classic by Rozalla, the lyrics of this are going to hit so much harder when we’re all finally free this summer.”

Harry Tremlett x MPH – Wompa

“MPH is another artist who’ll be featuring heavily in our sets once live shows get rolling again. I have been dying to play Wompa out since I first heard it.”

Tuff Culture – Been Too Long

“This came out just before lockdown, and was doing damage in our sets before all hell came to frog town! It’ll still do the damage once we’re back out there though, some records are special like that.”

Miss L.A. – Oh My

“Miss L.A. is a new artist with only a handful of releases so far but we’ve loved all of them, we can’t wait to hear this in a field on a big system with the sun shining .”

Oh My Daze – Here & Now Dub
“We play everything Oh My Daze makes – deffo one to watch in the future!”

Platinum Breaks feat Eden – Everything (Bladerunner Vocal Mix)

“Really love this song from Platinum Breaks. It’s a massive record and deserves to be blasted out for the rest of this year and far beyond.”

Friction x Kanine – Your Love

“This tune still gets us as fired up as the first time we heard it, definitely one that will be getting a good run out on the festival circuit.”

Tengu – Paparazzi

“We’re putting it on record: 2021 is going to be a big year for Tengu. We’re loving this.”
