Floyd Mayweather has backed Deontay Wilder to bounce back from the crushing defeat to Tyson Fury which saw him lose his WBC title.
Fury outclassed Wilder throughout the fight in Las Vegas on Saturday, eventually stopping him in the seventh round after The Bronze Bomber had twice hit the canvas.
It remains to be seen what Wilder’s next move will be, and he can reportedly trigger a clause to fight Fury for the third time if he so chooses.
Mayweather, who remained unbeaten in his career, took to social media to show his support for the Wilder.
“Win, Lose or Draw… Deontay is our brother that has accomplished many triumphs,” Mayweather wrote.

“As a community we should all uplift and support him throughout it all. No matter what, you’re still a winner in my eyes, King!”
Wilder suffered damage to his ear during the fight, and was taken to hospital to be checked over.
He admitted after the bout that he had lost to the better boxer on the night, but bemoaned his team’s decision to throw the towel in in the seventh round.
“The best man won tonight, but my corner threw in the towel and I was ready to go out on my shield,” he said. “I had a lot of things going on heading into this fight. It is what it is, but I made no excuses tonight.

“I just wish my corner would have let me go out on my shield. I’m a warrior. He had a great performance and we will be back stronger.”
“Even the greatest have lost and came back, that is just part of it. You just take it for what it is. I can make no excuses tonight. I had a lot of complications.”
Talk has also turned as to who Fury could fight next, with fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua appearing to be the fans’ preference.
