As part of a £6.5 billion push to boost passenger experience, British Airways is to welcome a range of 73 new aircraft to its fleet in the next five years, including the A350 and 787-10 Dreamliner. While the first departure of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner is fast approaching, eager travellers can look to the new A350 to gain an insight into what life on board BA’S newest fleet will look like.
From comfort to privacy, the new business class seat offers direct aisle access thanks to the 1-2-1 cabin configuration.
A suite door has been added to give passengers their own space while seats can lay fully flat to allow for a peaceful sleep.
Each seat will also benefit from 40 percent more storage, including a vanity unit and mirror.
Furthermore, smaller intricacies such as the height of the tray table have also been taken into consideration.
“Higher levels of humidity and lower cabin pressure will leave customers feeling more refreshed after their flight,” explained the BA spokesperson.
Throughout the plane, the same aesthetic is continued, with navy padded seating, cream and wood panelling, and flashes of BA’s prestigious silver symbol emblazoned on various elements of each cabin.
A navy, cream and silver colour scheme, already instantly recognisable in union with the British carrier, is continued throughout.
World Traveller Plus, made up of 56 seats, is noticeably sleeker in its design than its predecessor.
Meanwhile, the 216-seat World Traveller is made up of two cabins – a smaller front cabin and a larger rear cabin. Seats are in a 3-3-3 configuration, each with their own individual entertainment system.
The 787-100 Dreamliner is anticipated to offer equal measures of comfort.
However, unlike the Airbus A350 will be delivered with a small first-class cabin at the front of the aircraft.
The countdown is its on, with passengers travelling to Atlanta being the first to experience the modernised flight.
The new 787 is to depart in March.
