Flights: Passenger hailed ‘genius’ for discovering ‘epic travel hack’

Travelling by plane can be a long and tiring process. From airport waits and time zone changes to arduous flight times and occasional delays. Couple that with trying to get a good night’s sleep in an often cramped seating arrangement, and its no wonder passengers are exhausted by the time they reach their destination. However, one savvy traveller came up with a unique travel hack on a recent plane journey that left her fellow flyers hailing her as a “genius”.

A photograph has gone viral of the woman on an unnamed flight after it was shared to the Instagram account @PassengerShaming.

The image, snapped by another passenger, shows a woman asleep in what appears to be the economy cabin of a plane.

Seated in an emergency exit row, the traveller has been lucky enough to receive extra legroom in front of the exit door.

This clearly has caused some discomfort, with nowhere to rest her feet while sleeping.

The image has amassed 13,127 likes at the time of writing.

It has also seen 420 users post their opinion on this inflight invention.

One passenger described the woman as a “genius”, while others called her “smart” and “innovative”.

However, others have pointed out the safety issues at play.

One couple were recently spotted on a flight using the tray table as a footrest, shocking those around them.

One of the fliers is wearing shoes as he crosses his ankles on the table. Consequently, he is most likely transferring any dirt and nastiness he has walked in onto the plastic surface.

“I’m never touching one of those tables ever again,” one person commented on the image.

Another added: “I fly enough to crave comfort yet I’d NEVER stick my feet on those trays because I’m completely aware that other people use them to hold food, or reading material, or even their heads if they’re napping. Gross. Gross. Gross.”
