Flights: Cabin crew left reeling at passenger behaviour – their ‘biggest pet peeve’

Some feel it is a result of people sneaking on luggage that they should have checked in simply to avoid fees.

“What about the people who put their bags sideways because they snuck on a bag that should’ve been checked,” wrote an Instagram user.

However, there were passengers among the comments who jumped to defend the scenario, blaming the airlines and crew for the behaviour.

“Sorry, you have a job to do… seriously,” wrote one traveller.

“Take in luggage is monitored with size and number, no passenger should be considered out of bounds.

“Therefore it ends up being the flight attendant’s job to try and fit all luggage properly for security reasons.”

Another frustrated flier said: “Well, I have never done that but have been tempted out of frustration.

“I purchased a bag that fit what was posted by the airlines as the size I could carry on. I was able to use it a couple of times and then discovered it no longer fit the upper bins. The seating and storage bins keep getting smaller and smaller.

“No wonder people are irritable.

“I used to look forward to flying and now I just hope I get through it without missing my flight or sitting next to someone’s loud and messy kids who they have chosen not to sit next to.”
