Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 and became one of the most successful bands in history. But after just three years co-founder and guitarist Peter Green left the band. Now, 50 years later, drummer Mick Fleetwood has honoured his former bandmate at a star-studded tribute concert at the London Palladium this week.
The gig was in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and featured performances from big stars.
They included Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour.
Also, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, The Who’s Pete Townshend, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and Fleetwood Mac’s Neil Finn and Christine McVie.
John Mayall, who let Green replace Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreakers was also in attendance.

Gibbons continued: “That is what has made it so interesting throughout the decades.
“We’ve really come to the point [where] the one thing we agree, we three, [is] still enjoying getting to do what we get to do.
“And once we hit the stage it’s always with a grin and again, it’s not about who’s going to make the first mistake, it’s about how we’re going to get out of it! [laughs].”
The guitarist also gave an update on plans for ZZ Top’s sixteenth studio album.
Gibbons revealed: “I was just on the phone… with the noted producer Mr Rick Rubin. Rick’s got a few ideas that he threw into the mix. He’s raring to get us back in the room.
“He likes to work on the West Coast, so it’s between Texas and California where we dream this stuff up.
“So it’ll be coming up, probably in the next few months I hope. It’s a bit premature for a proper announcement, but it’ll be forthcoming, yeah.”
