FKA twigs could easily have auditioned for Hustlers judging by her impressive pole dancing skills.
While many of us are slowly going back to old habits and forgetting our New Year’s resolution to go to the gym, the Two Weeks singer has apparently erected a pole in her living room to avoid the temptation of not working out.
In her latest Instagram post, twigs is seen hanging upside on a pole while holding onto one foot and swivelling around as though she’s just casually having a good ol’ stretch.
‘Can u find the birthday cake?’ she teasingly captioned the video.
Erm, with those pole dancing skills, birthday cake probably isn’t what her followers were looking for.
Even supermodel Naomi Campbell was impressed and left several heart and fire emojis because, you know, it’s lit.
FKA twigs, real name Tahlia Barnett, spent a year learning how to pole dance for her Cellophane music video, which sees her strutting along in large stripper-style heels and performing choreographed dancing before revealing her moves on the pole.
The 32-year-old musician gave fans an insight into her pole dancing training in a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary titled Practice.
She explained: ‘There was a lot of hard work that went into making the video happen – on a creative level, on a business level, on a physical level.
‘It’s all very well me going and doing a three-minute routine, that’s easy. But the difficult thing is knowing that you have the stamina and the strength to be able to do that three-minute routine for eight hours, and that’s something different.’
The singer added in a tweet: ‘To complete my vision for the cellophane video I had to learn to pole dance, I knew it from the moment I finished the song in the studio. I am proud to share a precious part of my training with you.’
Jennifer Lopez, aka Ramona, would be proud.
When she’s not pole dancing in her living room, twigs has been busy spending time with The 1975 singer Matt Healy, whom she’s rumoured to be dating.
Fans have spotted the singers hanging out together in recent weeks, including a shopping trip in London and spending Christmas Eve having dinner with friends.
Last weekend, twigs even met Matt’s mother Denise Welch when they all attended DragCon UK 2020 together.
