FKA twigs ‘left with PTSD’ after split from Shia LaBeouf

FKA twigs says she suffered from PTSD following her split from Shia LaBeouf — claiming he once tried to throttle her at a petrol station in broad daylight.

The singer, who is suing the Hollywood star for sexual battery, assault and emotional distress through LA’s Superior Court, has delved into the horror she was allegedly forced to endure.

twigs, who now dates The 1975’s Matt Healy, said the alleged attack happened ‘driving back from the desert where he was threatening to crash the car unless I said I loved him, and ended up basically strangling me in public at a gas station and nobody did anything’.

She added: ‘That was a low moment for me, I felt I would never be believed. Nobody stepped in.

‘To have people see me treated in that way and not do anything… I felt really disheartened.’

Opening up on the extent of LaBeouf’s jealousy, London-born twigs claimed: ‘I had a quota that I had to meet. So it was like touches or looks or kisses that his previous partner apparently met this number very well.

‘I had to get the touches and kisses correct. I never knew exactly what the number was but it was essentially around 20 a day, 20 touches, 20 kisses a day. ‘Reinforcements of my devotion to him. Which is exhausting.’

The 33-year-old former Brit nominee told the BBC podcast Grounded With Louis Theroux she would be ‘berated’ for being pleasant to restaurant staff.

‘Being nice to a waiter, that could be seen as me flirting when I am literally just ordering pasta and being polite,’ twigs added. ‘I was told if I loved him I wouldn’t look men in the eye.’

She said LaBeouf’s rants would ‘make me feel like the worst person ever… a terrible girlfriend’.

Twigs, who dated Batman star Robert Pattinson for two years, went on: ‘At times I would call an ex-partner in tears to say I am the worst person ever to be around and he would be like, “No, not at all.”’

She said the nine-month relationship, which ended last year, left her with PTSD.

Asked why she didn’t leave sooner, she added: ‘It genuinely felt impossible. I felt so controlled.’

After twigs launched her lawsuit in December, LaBoeuf, 34, said many allegations against him were untrue. ‘I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalisations,’ he said. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt.’

More Guilty Pleasures…

Winking RiRi certainly proves that lace is more

Rihanna shows she’s really going to put her back into thrilling her boyfriend A$AP Rocky this Valentine’s Day.

Wearing a sheer black number with a lace-up back, net gloves and not much else, RiRi delivered a cheeky wink for the camera.

The 32-year-old S&M singer clutched a glass of champers in the promo for her range of Savage X Fenty knick-knacks.

Rocky and RiRi have been dating since last year and she has even hired the US rapper to model men’s make-up in her beauty business. The couple were seen heading out for dinner in New York last week.

Justin’s family life is back in sync

Justin Timberlake is busy promoting his new film Palmer… even though the star’s marriage was rocked by his off-set behaviour during filming.

JT, who stars as a reformed jailbird in the Apple TV+ flick, apologised for a ‘strong lapse in judgment’ after holding co-star Alisha Wainwright’s hand when the cameras weren’t rolling.

Now he insists that the emotional drama remains his top priority, despite whispers of an NSYNC reunion. ‘We will have to see what happens in terms of live music, but my focus right now is Palmer,’ the 39-year-old told Radio Times.

Justin’s wife Jessica Biel gave birth to their second son, Phineas, last year, and he added: ‘What makes me happiest in life is being with my family. There’s not anything that comes close.’

■ CHERYL is hoping to lead the charge in bringing back festival fun after signing up to headline The Mighty Hoopla this year. The Fight For This Love singer, 37, joins Eve and En Vogue in the line-up at south London’s Brockwell Park on September 4 — pushed back from June. Organisers hope the Covid vaccine will have made an impact by then.

■ RAY BLK has joined the list of talent supporting the PRS Foundation’s Power Up campaign, which aims to address racism in the music industry. Kano, DJ Target and Sabrina Washington are also ambassadors and Ray, 26, described it as an ‘initiative to help make the change the industry so desperately needs.’
