1. Brighton to Arundel via Amberley
When you leave Brighton for Arundel, take the A23 which will see you across the scenic Downs.
You will then be taken through Hurstpierpoint via the B2116, which will then see you pass the Royal Oak at Wineham.
This is an ideal spot for a pub lunch or some dinner either on your way there or back.
Amberley is an idyllic, charming village which is home to thatched cottages, a castle and a museum.
Arundel is home to the famous Arundel Castle and a gothic cathedral which sits above the village itself.
This is a 70-mile round trip which will take roughly a few hours depending on whether you stop off.
