Speaking on his breakfast show on Tuesday, Fitzy told listeners they are approached by producers every year but always turn down the offer for the same reason.
The retired footy player, 43, explained that they’re unable to commit to four weeks of filming in South Africa because the schedule clashes with their radio show.

‘I got a phone call saying, “Do you want to do the jungle?” We get this every year,’ he said.
‘I said, “No, no way. I can’t… We go back to work [after the Christmas non-ratings period] on January 20. I can’t do it.”‘
While he turned down an appearance on I’m a Celebrity, Fitzy revealed that he was instrumental in getting TV presenter Tom Williams a place on the show.

‘So I rang [the producers] back and said, “If you want someone who’s a bit of a bogan like me… Tommy Williams would be awesome!”‘ he laughed.
Fitzy went on to say that Tom left him a voicemail message shortly before flying out to South Africa for the season premiere.
‘It’s me, man! It’s Tommy. I’m onto my way to the jungle. I’m going in!’ Fitzy said, recalling what his friend had supposedly told him.
He then claimed that Tom had asked him to ‘take care of’ his social media accounts while he was out of the country.
