First Wonder Woman 1984 trailer shows Gal Gadot fight the Soviet Union and reunite with Chris Pine


GAL Gadot has reunited on screen with Chris Pine for the new Hollywood blockbuster Wonder Woman 1984.

The first look of the upcoming film was released yesterday and shows an insight into how Diana Prince  will battle the Soviet Union and her arch nemesis – Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and try to save the world from evil.

Wonder Woman 1984, which is set in her childhood of the mythical island of Themyscira, will be Gal’s second time playing the protagonist after her lead role in 2017.

In the opening scenes of the trailer, Gal is joined by her arch nemesis, Cheetah, an archaeologist – who ask’s her if she’s ever been in love.

She replies: “A long, long time ago.”

The trailer also shows various action shots of Diana’s amazing power, strength and beauty throughout the film as she fights off evil with the help of Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).

She also reignites an old flame with Steve Trevor – despite the fact he died in the last film.

The movie was filmed in four locations in three different countries and is directed by Patty Jenkings.

Other famous stars in the cast include Robin Wright, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen and Kristoffer Polaha.

Fans of the sequel have had to wait an extra seven months after the release of the film was postponed from November 2019 to June 5 2020.

Back in 2017, Gal starred in Wonder Woman – Rise of the Warrior which was extremely successful after setting several box office records and becoming the tenth highest-grossing film of 2017.

The film focused on how Diana, a training warrior finds her powers after she leaves home to fight a war.

During an interview with We Got This Covered after her first role as Wonder Woman, Gal, 34 explained how she loved how caring her character is.

She said: “Wonder Woman is different, we went back to Diana’s backstory – to her history, her coming of age. How did Diana become Wonder Woman?

“But with this character, what I love about her so much is that her agenda is love.

“It’s not about fighting, it’s not about who is stronger than whom; it’s not about women versus men.

“It’s not about gender, its about love, and acceptance of others.

“She stands for love, justice and compassion and all of this beautiful things and i feel like if each and every one of us had a little bit of Diana we’d have a better world.”
