LORRAINE Kelly is seen escaping Gail Platt while boating on a lake in the first look of her Coronation Street cameo.
The 59-year-old TV presenter’s scenes will air this evening on the ITV soap and she shared a sneak peek on her show today.
In the brief clip Gail Platt (Helen Worth), is seen boating on a lake during the Platt family holiday as she tries to track down Lorraine, who is playing herself.
Back on dry land and Lorraine is seen watching Gail, while remarking: “Those women are going to capsize if they are not careful.”
Lorraine’s hotly anticipated appearance comes when the Platt family visit the same holiday camp as her, after grandma Audrey pays for the family to enjoy a getaway.
When David and Nick fall out, Gail leaves them arguing and goes off on a mission to hunt down her idol Lorraine – with what producers promise are hilarious consequences.
While bosses haven’t released any more details about what Lorraine’s stunt is, given her scenes are filmed on a lake and involve a pedalo, there is likely to be some kind of waterborne collision.
Ben Price, 47, who plays Nick Tilsley, revealed last week: “She’s got a big part in this storyline. She’s got a stunt. She’s in the best family she could possibly be with – The Platts.”
Lorraine aired some of the backstage footage on her show last week, where it was revealed she was given both a body double for the dramatic scenes – and a Hollywood-style Winnebago.
Lorraine raved: “What an amazing day. I’ve had an absolute blast. Best day of my life, fantastic. All the crew and the cast could not have been nicer to me.”
