First look! Hailee Steinfeld is a rebel turned writer in the new teaser trailer for Apple TV’s Dickinson
Hailee Steinfeld is taking the literary out of the ordinary with her new role as rebellious young poet Emily Dickinson in Apple TV’s upcoming Dickinson, and a new teaser trailer dropped today.
The Oscar and Golden Globe nominated actress will be at the center of what the company calls ‘a coming-of-age story that finds Dickinson to be an unexpected hero for our millennial era.’
Steinfeld, 22, will star in the series alongside Jane Krakowski, 50, Toby Huss, 52, Anna Baryshnikov, 27, Ella Hunt, 21, and Adrian Blake Enscoe.

The trailer begins with Steinfeld’s mother, played by Krakowski, saying: ‘She’s wild. She will be the ruin of this family. And she doesn’t know how to behave like a proper young lady.’
It continues with Steinfeld portraying Dickinson’s taste for mischief much to the dismay of her family.
‘I have one purpose and that is to become a great writer,’ Dickinson says at one point in the trailer.

The comedy is set in the 19th century but keeps a decidedly modern tone.
Steinfeld serves as an executive producer on the project alongside writer and creator Alena Smith, known for her work on The Affair.

David Gordon Green, the mind behind Vice Principals and Pineapple Express, is set to direct the series.
Dickinson will be Steinfeld’s first role as a TV series-regular.
Apple TV+ is due out in November and will reportedly cost $9.99 to subscribe.
