Liverpool will face either Al Sadd, Hienghene Sport or CF Monterrey in the Club World Cup in Qatar after the draw was made in Zurich.
The Reds will be Europe’s representative in the competition after beating Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.
It is the first time Liverpool will have competed in the tournament since 2005 when they lost in the final to Sao Paulo.
The six-time European champions will enter the Club World Cup at the semi-final stage alongside the winner of the Copa Libertadores – which concludes in November.
Mexican side Monterrey, Tunisian outfit Esperance de Tunis, hosts Al-Sadd and New Caledonian side Hienghene Sport are the other confirmed teams in the tournament – plus the winners of the AFC Champions League in Asia.

NB: If Al Sadd win the AFC Champions League, they will play ES Tunis in Match 3 while the runners-up of the AFC Champions League will play Hienghene Sport in Match 1.
