FIFA 20: Ultimate Team of the Week 9 Prediction (TOTW 9) – Messi, Lewandowski, Ramos & more


Lionel Messi continued his excellent form with his 52nd career hat-trick this week, while Robert Lewandowski is on his way to break records of his own.

Fabinho’s stunning strike helped Liverpool open an eight-point gap at the top of the Premier League as the Reds beat Man City in the most highly anticipated game of the season so far.

Each week, EA select a squad of 23 of the best performing players from the past seven days and give them FIFA 20 in-form (IF) cards which have increased ratings.

Any player included in the TOTW that also has a One to Watch (OTW) card will also be boosted and their overall (OVR) will improve to their latest IF card rating.

These players form the TOTW which is available to challenge for coins on FIFA Ultimate Team. These players are also available in packs and on the transfer market, so look out for them!

Wojciech Szczesny (OVR 86 – IF 88)

Juventus laboured to a 1-0 win over AC Milan and have Polish shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny to thank for the three points. The former Arsenal man made a string of fine saves to keep his clean sheet intact and continue Juve’s unbeaten start.

Szczesny’s basic 86 OVR card can be bought for 10,750 coins on both PS4 and Xbox One. A place in TOTW 9 could see his overall rise as high as 88.

Sergio Ramos (OVR 89 – IF 90)

Another goal and another clean sheet for penalty extraordinaire Sergio Ramos. Ramos added to his goal in midweek with another penalty as Madrid romped past Eibar. Ramos’ coolly converted spot kick put Madrid 2-0 up and they cruised to secure three points and keep pace with Barcelona.

An IF Ramos would be rated 90 OVR and cost a hefty fee. His basic 89 OVR card is worth well over 100,000 coins on both consoles.

James Tarkowski (OVR 79 – IF 83)

A sure-footed performance from James Tarkowski saw Burnley ease to a 3-0 win over struggling West Ham. Tarkowski provided an assist for teammate Ashley Barnes and will hope more displays like this will get him back on England’s radar.

Tarkwoski’s basic card is available for 1,000 coins on both consoles. The Englishman is likely to receive an IF card with 83 OVR should he be selected for TOTW 9.

Benjamin Pavard (OVR 79 – IF 83)

French international Benjamin Pavard has been an everpresent in Bayern’s defence this season. The versatile defender added an assist to his impressive stats so far as FCB crushed rivals Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in Der Klassiker. Three clean sheets, two goals and two assists represent a fine start for Pavard in 2019/20.

World Cup winner Pavard could see his 79 OVR boosted to 83 this week. His basic card can be bought for 1,900 coins on PS4 and 2,100 on Xbox One.

Lionel Messi (OVR 94 – IF 95)

The footballing world has run out of superlatives to describe Lionel Messi. The Argentine genius produced a hat-trick of set-pieces including two magnificent curling free-kicks. Messi now has eight goals and three assists in his last five La Liga games.

You will need well over 1 million coins on either console to land Messi’s 94 rated basic card. On IF card with 95 OVR will be worth a phenomenal amount, fingers crossed!

Donny van de Beek (OVR 81 – IF 85)

Donny van de Beek’s double helped the Ajax juggernaut keep steaming towards the Eredivisie title this week. Last season’s Champions League semi-finalists have yet to lose this term and have scored a whopping 39 goals in 12 games.

Dutch interntional van de Beek could receive an IF card with 85 OVR. His basic 81 OVR card can be bought for under 1,000 coins on both consoles – bargain!

Fabinho (OVR 85 – SIF 87)

Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder Fabinho continues to go from strength to strength with another dominant display against champions Man City in the 3-1 victory. Fabinho opened the scoring with a thunderbolt from well outside the box in a Man of the Match performance at Anfield.

A second IF card of the season would see Fabinho’s overall jump up to 87. His basic card can be bought for 39,000 coins on PS4 and 45,750 on Xbox One. His first IF card with 86 OVR costs around 200,000 coins on both consoles.

Dimitri Payet (OVR 81 – IF 85)

Former West Ham star Dimitri Payet showed his quality with a fine double against French giants Lyon. First, he coolly dispatched a penalty high into the side netting before bagging his second with a fine finish to a move he started in his own half.

Marseille man Payet’s basic card can be bought for just 1,000 coins on PS4 and 1,800 on Xbox One. His Ultimate Scream card rated 86 OVR is worth around 85,000 coins on both consoles. An IF card this week is likely to be rated 85.

Karim Benzema (OVR 87 – SIF 89)

Karim Benzema has enjoyed a fruitful season in front of goal. The French forward is already in double figures for the season and equalled Messi’s record for scoring in 15 consecutive Champions League season. Benzema’s double away at Eibar made it four goals in just a week for the in-form striker.

A second in-form card for Benzema would be rated 89 OVR. His basic 87 OVR card is available for 16,000 coins on both consoles while his 88 rated IF card costs 107,000 coins on PS4 and 86,000 on Xbox One.

Robert Lewandowski (OVR 89 – SIF 91)

Polish goal machine Robert Lewandowski is on fire. Lewandowski extended his run of scoring in each game so far this season with a double against former side Dortmund. The Pole now has 23 goals in all competitions and its only just November!

Another IF card for Lewandowski would be rated 91 OVR. His basic 89 OVR card can be bought for 34,000 coins in the transfer market. His 90 rated IF card is available for around 170,000 coins.

Joaquin Correa (OVR 80 – IF 84)

Argentina international Joaquin Correa’s clinical double saw Lazio beat Serie A strugglers Lecce 4-2. Correa opened the scoring with a powerful low drive before netting his second from a tight angle. Lazio are now unbeaten in seven games and are one of the form sides in Italy.

Correa’s goalscoring exploits this weekend may earn him an 84 rated IF card. His basic 80 OVR card is a steal at just 800 coins on PS4 and 700 on Xbox One.
