FIFA 20: Top 7 goalkeepers (GK) ratings predictions – Alisson, De Gea & more

Usually the most important position in your Ultimate Team is your goalkeeper.

While there are always those cheap beasts between the sticks, think FIFA 17’s Jack Butland or Bernd Leno on FIFA 15, if you want to compete at the very top, you need one of those top keepers.

Here’s our prediction at who the top 7 shot stoppers will be on FIFA 20.

Jan Oblak (OVR 90 – 91)

Age: 26

Club: Atletico Madrid

Country: Slovenia

Our pick for the number one rated goalkeeper on FIFA 20 is none other than Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.

One of the most consistent players in world football, the Slovenian very rarely puts a foot (or a hand) wrong for Atletico and once again was one of their standout players in 2019.

Once again his rating should rise, with a predicted 91 overall set to make him FIFAs best goalkeeper for the new game.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 89 – 90)

Age: 27

Club: Barcelona

Country: Germany

Barcelona’s number one Marc-Andre ter Stegen had another solid season for the Catalonians as they cruised to a second consecutive La Liga title.

Many fans are calling for him to be instated as Germany’s number one, however Joachim Low seems set to stick with Manuel Neuer. A contentious decision for sure.

However, in the battle to be FIFA’s best German keeper, there’s only one winner, ter Stegen should receive another small boost to his rating. A 90 overall.

Alisson Becker (OVR 85 – 89)

Age: 26

Club: Liverpool

Country: Brazil

There was a lot of expectation on Alisson last season after Liverpool splashed out £71.6 million to bring the Roma keeper to Anfield.

But he proved that he was worth the money, enjoying a fantastic season for both club and country. He won the Premier League Golden Glove; the Champions League Goalkeeper of the Season award and also the Golden Glove in the Copa America.

He will receive a huge boost to his rating for sure, he started FIFA 19 with as an underwhelming 85 overall; we have him as an 89, but don’t be surprised to see him as a 90.

David de Gea (OVR 91 – 89)

Age: 28

Club: Manchester United

Country: Spain

Spaniard David de Gea was the highest-rated stopper on FIFA 19 but it is highly unlikely he will occupy that position again on FIFA 20.

The United stoppers form has dipped significantly in recent months, producing a number of high profile clangers as the Red Devils missed out on qualification for this seasons Champions League.

That being said, his talent is still unquestionable and you would expect his form to turn around soon. His rating will drop though, -2 to 89.

Manuel Neuer (OVR 90 – 88)

Age: 33

Club: Bayern Munich

Country: Germany

Once hailed as the best goalkeeper in world football, the last couple of seasons have been tough for the Bayern Munich and Germany keeper.

When fit, there is no denying his ability, as he showed last season with some top-class performances for Bayern, notably in their German Super Cup final victory over Leipzig, but injuries have plagued Neuer over the last couple of season.

A -2 rating might be a bit harsh, but with so many others in the list having outstanding seasons, the bar has been set high this year.

Ederson Moraes (OVR 86 – 88)

Age: 26

Club: Manchester City

Country: Brazil

The unorthodox Brazilian had another fine season for Manchester City as the Citizens enjoyed another trophy laden season.

Ederson kept 28 clean sheets in all competitions last campaign and having received a winter upgrade to an 87, we expect he will go one rating higher this year. An 88 overall.

Samir Handanovic (OVR 88 – 88)

Age: 35

Club: Inter Milan

Country: Slovenia

Inter Milan stopper Samir Handanovic is one of the most consistent goalkeepers in world football, and his FIFA ratings over the years show that, receiving ratings of 87, 87 and 88 in the last three seasons.

The Slovenia international had a fine season once again, helping Inter Milan to qualify for the Champions League so we expect he will be at the top end of the ratings for a fourth consecutive year. We have him matching his rating from FIFA 19, 88 overall.
