FIFA 20: Top 100 ratings predictions 100-91 – Lukaku, Witsel, Ziyech & more

The countdown to the release of FIFA 20 is well and truly on, with the game’s release less than three weeks away.

We begin our countdown of the top 100 players on the new game. Here’s the first ten players in that list.

100. Riyad Mahrez (OVR 85 – 85)

Position: RW

Age: 28

Club: Manchester City

Country: Algeria

Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez is the first name in the list. The Algerian had a mixed first season for the Premier League champions, seeing his game time limited as Pep Guardiola favoured Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane for large parts of the season.

He still enjoyed a fine season in terms of goals and assists though. Finishing with 12 goals and 12 assists from 44 appearances in all competitions. Sane’s long-term injury means Mahrez is likely to see more game time for City this season. An 85 overall seems fair.

99. Blaise Matuidi (OVR 85)

Position: CDM

Age: 32

Club: Piemonte Calcio (Juventus)

Country: France

Juventus and France international Blaise Matuidi enjoyed another solid season last year as Juventus romped to an 8th straight Serie A title.

The Frenchman is always a fan favourite in FIFA for his solid pace and defensive stats, he is also a great player for use in Ligue 1 and Serie A hybrids. He’ll retain his 85 rating from FIFA 19.

98. Radja Nainggolan (OVR 85 – 85)

Position: CM

Age: 31

Club: Cagliari

Country: Belgium

FIFA 16 favourite Radja Nainggolan is the next name in the countdown. The Belgian has made a third consecutive move across the Serie A, joining Cagliari on a season-long loan.

Known for his long-range efforts. Radja managed seven goals for Inter last season and is another player who we expect to remain just inside the top 100. An 85 overall for a second consecutive year for Radja.

97. Douglas Costa (OVR 86 – 85)

Position: LM

Age: 28

Club: Piemonte Calcio (Juventus)

Country: Brazil

Douglas Costa had a difficult season for Juve in 2019. The Brazilian picked up a four match ban for spitting at Sassuolo’s Di Francesco back in September and then missed the last four months of the season with calf and hamstring injuries.

Despite a tough season, Costa remains a real threat when fit and whilst he should receive a downgrade to his 86 rating on FIFA 19, we have him as an 85 overall.

96. Axel Witsel (OVR 85)

Position: CDM, CM

Age: 30

Club: Borussia Dortmund

Country: Belgium

Another Belgium midfielder in the list, Dortmund’s Axel Witsel. The 6’1″ defensive midfielder had a fine first season for the German giants, making 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring six times.

The Belgian international is set for a significant boost to his 82 overall at the start of FIFA 19, he should make the top 100 with an 85 rating.

95. Jose Gimenez (OVR 84 – 85)

Position: CB

Age: 24

Club: Atletico Madrid

Country: Uruguay

At just 24 years of age, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez is one of the hottest young centre backs in world football. Injuries restricted the Uruguayan to just 21 league appearances for Atletico as they finished runners up in last seasons La Liga.

With Diego Godin leaving to join Inter Milan ahead of the current season, Gimenez will see a lot more game time for Los Colchoneros, a small upgrade to an 85 is where we predict he will start FIFA 20.

94. David Alaba (OVR 85 – 85)

Position: LB

Age: 27

Club: Bayern Munich

Country: Austria

FIFA favourite David Alaba is always one of the go-to LB’s for any Ultimate Team player. The attacking-minded left back had another fine season for Der FCB, picking up three goals and seven assists in all competitions.

He grabbed his first of the season for Bayern in their 6-1 victory over Mainz last season. He remains one of the best left backs in world football and will come in as an 85 overall once again.

93. Hakim Ziyech (OVR 85)

Position: RM, CAM

Age: 26

Club: Ajax

Country: Morocco

Another player set for a significant boost on FIFA 20 is Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan was a key-man for the Dutch side in their surprise run to the Champions League semi-final.

With 21 goals and 24 assists in all competitions last term, Ziyech should make the top 100 for the first time. His 82 rating going up to a respectable 85.

92. Pablo Sarabia (OVR 85)

Position: CM

Age: 27

Club: Paris Saint Germain

Country: Spain

Pablo Sarabia enjoyed the finest season of his career to date for Spanish side Sevilla last season, earning himself a big-money-move to French champions Paris Saint Germain.

The 27-year-old central midfielder scored 23 goals and registered 17 assists in all competitions. Well worthy of the big jump from an 81 to 85 overall.

91. Romelu Lukaku (OVR 85)

Position: ST

Age: 26

Club: Inter Milan

Country: Belgium

Romelu Lukaku’s United nightmare is finally over, with the 26-year-old joining Italian side Inter Milan for a fee believed to be £74 million.

The Belgian struggled for game-time following the arrival of current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, scoring just six times following the Norwegians arrival in December. A downgrade is likely for Lukaku.
