When it comes to football glory, strikers tend to sit on top of the pile.

They score the goals, take the credit and earn some of the biggest wage bills. Due to this they often have substantial transfer fees and on FIFA 20’s Career Mode, this is no different.

However, a more economical option is to sign a younger forward, who has still not reached his full potential, and nurture him in to his prime.

How to choose the best strikers (ST & CF) for FIFA 20 Career Mode

Here we are looking at the best young strikers (ST & CF) aged between 20 and 23 years old.

They will all start the 2019/20 season with a rating of at least 76, with the potential to improve to at least 80.

These young strikers could be the stars of the future if nurtured by the right manager, and will make useful impact subs in the meantime.

Bear in mind, players can outgrow their potentials on FIFA 20, – thanks to dynamic player potential.

These high potential youngsters are not cheap, so take a look at the list below to make sure you make the right choice.

Kylian Mbappe (OVR 89 – POT 95)

Age: 20

Position(s): ST, RW

Club: Paris Saint-Germain

Country: France

Value: £84.2 million (Release Clause: £172.5 million)

Wage: £140,000 a week

Kylian Mbappe is already classed as a world class striker, despite not reaching his prime. The French forward is one of the most exciting prospects of this footballing generation, having already won three Ligue 1 medals and scoring in the World Cup Final to secure France’s victory.

Unsurprisingly, his transfer fee is extremely high and will cost you around £120 million, with wages of £140,000 a week. But Mbappe is very much a ‘get what you pay for’ signing, with incredibly high sprint speed (96), dribbling (91) and finishing (89) stats, as well as his five star skills.

Luka Jovic (OVR 83 – POT 89)

Jovic earned himself a £54 million transfer to Real Madrid this summer after an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt. He scored 10 goals in the Europa League, helping Frankfurt reach the semi-final.

Timo Werner (OVR 83 – POT 87)

Timo Werner burst in to the Bundesliga scene in 2016, scoring 21 goals in his first season with RB Leipzig. Since then he has continued to improve and racked up 68 goals for the German club.

His 92 rated sprint speed and 86 rated finishing can be yours for his release clause of £55.1 million. You will have to up his wages to £90,000 a week to complete the signing.

Gabriel Jesus (OVR 82 – POT 88)

Gabriel Jesus has thrived under Pep Guardiola’s Man City team, swapping in for the brilliant Sergio Aguero whenever he’s required. His efforts helped City achieve their treble winning season last year, earning back-to-back Premier League medals for the young Brazilian.

The already-experienced Premier League forward will set you back £55 million and an expensive wage bill of £126,000 a week. For that price, you will be signing a player with 90 rated agility and balance and 86 dribbling; evidently, Jesus won’t give up possession easily.

Lautaro Martinez (OVR 81 – POT 89)

Martinez scored 10 goals in 40 appearances in his first season for Inter, helping the San Siro side finish 4^th in the Serie A, retaining qualification for Champions League football.

With his 84 rated strength and aggression, the Argentinian will fight his way towards most opposition penalty areas before utilising his 82 finishing. His £46.2 million release clause seems like a fair price and his wage demands of £55,000 a week are relatively low.

Maxi Gomez (OVR 80 – POT 85)

After scoring 32 goals in the last two seasons for Celta Vigo, Maxi Gomez earned a move to Valencia over the summer. He has made a good start to the 2019/20 season, scoring already for the Spanish side.

Of course, his recent move means you’ll have to pay his release clause of £39.2 million, and fulfil his £50,000 wage demands to sign the striker. The 6’1″ Gomez has 85 rated strength and a heading accuracy of 86, making him the perfect target man.

Santi Mina (OVR 80 – POT 85)

Santi Mina had a steady season last year, with seven goals and five assists for Valencia, helping the Spanish side win a domestic trophy. This summer saw him return to his boyhood club of Celta Vigo.

His 83 rated positioning and 82 rated finishing suggests he is a natural striker, and with a bit of training he could be nurtured to his 85 overall rated potential. Mina will cost you his £39.2 million release clause and £26,000 in wages.

Moussa Dembele (OVR 80 – POT 85)

Wage: £64,000 a week

After achieving three consecutive Scottish Premier League trophies with Celtic, Dembele moved to Lyon in 2018. He scored 25 goals for the French side in the 18/19 season, and has already scored 5 goals in 5 games in the 19/20 season.

Dembele’s 85 sprint speed and 86 strength make him a force to be reckoned with and a fine addition to your team. The Frenchman will cost you £37 million, with moderately high wage demands of £64,000 a week.

Wesley (OVR 79 – POT 85)

Wesley has recently become known to English football fans after signing for newly promoted Premier League team Aston Villa. He has made a strong start for the English side, with two goals in six appearances.
