Whether you play online or offline, stadiums are a key part of any players’ experience on FIFA. Players have preferences of shadows (although this can be affected by the weather too) and the aesthetics of the ground itself. Controlling your favourite team in their own ground always makes it feel more special.
FIFA’s agreement with the Premier League mean that once again all 20 teams will play in their own stadiums, but which other new additions will be on FIFA 20? Find out below.

Bramall Lane
With a capacity over 32,000, the home of Sheffield United will be included on FIFA for the first time following their promotion to the Premier League. The ground, built in 1855, will be the only addition to the Premier League this season as both Carrow Road and Villa Park are already on the game.
Stade de Lyon
You can play the Women’s World Cup Final in the Stade de Lyon on FIFA 19 Not yet confirmed, however its inclusion in the Women’s World Cup DLC on FIFA 19 suggest that Lyon will have their real stadium back on FIFA next year. FIFA 16 was the last time Lyon had their own stadium as their home, however when they vacated the Stade Gerland (and FIFA removed it) and FIFA did not add their new home… until now.
Estadio da Luz
Benfica’s stunning ground holds over 65,000 fans and will be a favourite among FIFA players should it be included on the new game. EA are yet to confirm its addition; however, a partnership appears to have been built between EA Sports and Benfica with the logo appearing on the club website and a FIFA 20 teaser video suggesting a partnership released in June.
What could we see?
Could the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia return for FIFA 20?
For any fans still wondering where the Russian League went, the answer is PES got the rights and therefore all teams (except Champions League) and stadiums left the FIFA franchise. However, some fans may remember the 2018 World Cup DLC which featured the rights to all stadia used during the tournament, some of which were magnificent.
The good news is that some of these stadiums belong to teams outside the Russian top-flight and are not included in PES exclusive rights to the Russian Premier League. The stadiums potentially available are the Kaliningrad Stadium, Mordovia Arena, Nizhny Novgorod Stadium and the Volgograd Arena. As well as having exceptional names, the surroundings are also fantastic and would be a fantastic addition to the game.
What do we want?
Keep adding to the Champions League experience! FIFA made a big deal of including the Champions League, which was well overdue, however the matchday experience can be added to make it even more exciting. Scenes of flares and intimidating atmospheres often greet visiting sides when they play in Eastern Europe, so including the Turk Telekom Stadium (Galatasaray) or Sukru Saracoglu Stadium (Fenerbahçe) would add to the away day experience.

Two other stadiums that would go down very well would be the inclusion of Celtic Park or Ibrox as the two biggest club grounds in Scotland. Both boasting capacities of over 50,000, the stadiums are iconic and home to Scotland’s two biggest clubs, something that could add to the in-game rivalry.
It’s unlikely we will see Celtic Park or FIFA having featured on PES 2019 As well as the official stadiums being used, if FIFA can improve the in-game atmosphere’s and adjust it according to the importance of the game it would go a long way to improving user experience.

Honourable Mention

AC and Inter Milan have confirmed that the San Siro will be demolished in the coming years. This follows an agreement between the clubs to build a new home which they will continue to share. The iconic San Siro holds 80,000 fans and will be dearly missed in real life and on FIFA too. The shadows at the ground do make it a tricky venue to play at on FIFA, and if the new game is the last time we see it, let’s hope the new one will have no similar issues.
