Festive low alcohol drinks to enjoy this Christmas for those off the booze

With the festive season in full swing there is a fair chance you’re beginning to feel you’ve already had your fill of booze.

Thankfully there are plenty of ways to get in the Christmas spirit while staying off the sauce.

Low alcohol drinks have previously been the preserve of teetotal or pregnant partygoers – and those doing the driving.

But as more people choose sobriety for health and lifestyle reasons, the market for low or no-alcohol tipples is booming.

So here’s our list of the best options from drydrinker.com.

Dr Claire Braham, from the Fleet Street clinic, said: “Avoiding alcohol means better hydration and sleep which will reduce tiredness, reduce sickness, increase your concentration and improve your overall control over emotions and behaviour.

“It is not advised to drink more than 14 units a week, which is the equivalent of six pints of beer.

“That converts to 1,092 calories in total which would need 109 minutes of running to burn off. Abstinence is an easy way to avoid festive weight gain.”
