Fergie is reportedly doing ‘incredibly well’ since news broke of her decision to file for a divorce from Josh Duhamel.
The Black Eyed Peas star and her estranged husband announced their official separation two years ago, but the couple are now making their split permanent by seeking a divorce.
Sources close to Fergie say that she think it’s now time to ‘let go’ of her past marriage to Josh and the 44-year-old has finally found the strength to move on.
‘Fergie has always put health and parenting first in her life, she is finally ready to say [her marriage] is over for good ant that’s what led her to file for divorce,’ they claimed to Entertainment Tonight.
‘Those closet to her knew she would get to his point eventually. She feels good standing on her own and it was time to let go.’
The sources ruled out dating being back on the cards for Fergie and claimed she is more interested on focusing on her music and channelling her heartache into new material.
Fergie and Safe Haven actor Josh were married for eight years. They first began dating in 2004, later getting engaged in 2007 and tying the knot two years later in 2009.
The former couple are parents to son Axl, five and insisted they will ‘always be united in our support each other and our family’ while confirming their split.
Josh and Fergie have reportedly requested joint custody of their son and Fergie has asked the courts to revert her name back to Stacy Ann Ferguson – dropping Josh’s last name – once the divorce has been finalised.
Josh, meanwhile, is currently single after splitting with ex-girlfriend Eiza Gonzalez.
He began dating Eiza shortly after his split from Fergie, but is now wanting to move on from both past relationships.
